I've gotta go help my mom make New Years Eve lasagna, but I took a quick picture on my web cam of this fabulous ring I got from Urban Outfitters as a Hanukkah gift. (Dad's Jewish, Mom's Christian.) Dunno if you can make it out, but the stone is light pink. (I think it might be quartz.)

NEW LOOK!

So today I decided to show off my lovely new gifties, (this is about to get confusing) my dad's fiancee's best friend gave me a bunch of stuff from a Rodarte Target line, so I'm wearing some stuff twice or three times. (It was also raining, so consequently freezing, and i didn't feel like taking stuff off, because I was sooo freezing.)

And after all that, the first photos are of me without any Rodarte stuff on. This is a men's striped polo shirt, (given to me by my dad, during a little onslaught of an oversized sweater obsession.) The shorts are Hollister, boots Steve Madden, and I stole the fishnets from my mommy. :)

I love this jacket. It's Rodarte, and super comfy, and delicious. I dunno where the belt came from, got it ages ago, but the bandeau is from J C Penny, jeans are Forever 21, and the trusty, rusty boots are, of course, Steve Madden. (I'm obsessed.)

And we've arrived at my first favorite outfit. Vintage pink cardigan with fake pearl buttons, my favorite Roadarte piece ever, this fabulous slip underneath neck-high see-through part, and the cardigan is covering these great bows on the shoulders. It's with my trusty stolen fishnets and the Steve Madden boots. Oh and if you click on the picture for a zoom, you can see my cats eye necklace that I got in this little boutique on the way back from Utah like three or four years ago. It was a gift from my mommy, who's fishnets I should probably give back.

Unfortunately, I got two more Rodarte pieces from Karen, and they're both fabulous, and thinking back I probably should have put them together and taken a few shots, but i didn't. The first is an awesome sequined jersey-type dress in all black sequins except for a white ribcage. The second is a sweater, made out of I-don't-know-what, with little flower patterns all over. It's got silver buttons, and it's AWESOME. I'll try and get those two in next time I take pictures.

Continuing on in my lace obsession...

These lace gloves look fabulous with a pair of cigarette skinny jeans, black booties, a tweed fedora, and maybe some suspenders and a tucked in long sleeve black and white striped shirt. I would even wear one glove if you wanna get funky. I promise today (when it's light out) you'll get to see me wearing some of this stuff, also I'm probably going to apply for lookbook.nu tomorrow as well. (with some of the pictures i take.)

Eventually, when I can get some pieces photographed, I'll style them together, and show you how I think you can put certain pieces together. Each individually, then all together. Perhaps this will be made possible tomorrow. (I'm doing a shoot for a friend's photography project, and I can have her take shots of a few pieces, the I'll put them on. I'll also take one for my profile shot. Anyway, all this is coming.

Fab Four Fabulous

These are about to become HUGE. If they're not already. These sort of band jackets have been floating around for months in stores, but I haven't seen many people actually wearing them. I got mine from LoveCulture, for like 30 bucks. It's possibly my favorite outerwear piece ever. The coats have all sorts of scales, from downscaled black with black tassels, (mine) to blue with bright gold tassels beautifully embellished with gold shoulder pads. Sgt. Pepper's on the rise!

lace & LEATHER

So fall and winter collections have been so-so on leather, but YSL caught my eye with tons of the material. The line's pants have been kind of genie-looking, which suits my love of vintage fashion. It's not a big thing with many other designers, but I'm a sucker for leather. However lace accessories seem to be hitting everyday wear, maybe not so many runways. Lace gloves and tights have been popping up quite a bit, and I've seen even a few patterned fishnets. They look great with almost every shoe and dress. Those boots I've been raving about plus a pair of gray or black patterned tights looks urban-chic with a good floral dress and a fabulous blazer.

CURRENT ADDICTIONS: Steve Madden & Henna

I went to a bat mitzvah for the first time in two years, (yeah, i know.) and the party was typical—twelve year olds running around in four and a half inch heels made by H & M, bad rap music blasting, and middle-aged parents dancing to YMCA. But there was a little shining beacon of hope. This great henna artist was there, and instead of having the usual little simple design books, she had these really intricate stencils and flowers. I got two: one on each hand. I would take a picture, but it's faded already. Anyway, I think it's a great look, adds a little 'something something' to your style, and it looks awesome with some gaudy rings on.

I recently got two pairs of Steve Maddens. Those midnight blue pumps, (can you say GORGEOUS?) and this awesome pair of riding boots with a fabulous red zipper up the back. (The style is called ROADY, FYI.) Anyhoo, I just think those pumps are the most fabulous statement piece ever. Steve Madden has done it again! I've fallen in love. Not much else to say about them other than they're easy to walk in, and go great with almost every color. Also look good with cropped jeans or leggings, a great A-line dress, or regular skinny jeans.

FASHIØN DØNT becomes a reality.

So here's the story. I was in a hair salon with my friend, waiting for her to finish getting her hair cut, when I picked up the latest Harper's Bazar: Fashion Report. I saw hundreds of flawlessly constructed looks, but that wasn't what caught my eye. There was an article about fashion bloggers, and thought to myself, 'I could totally do that!' Then I realized I was fourteen. Well, the way I look at it is, how old do you have to be, and how much world experience do you need, to know what looks good? To me, all it took was my first step inside and Urban Outfitters, or Anthropologie, or this awesome little resale boutique that I love to go to. So here I am, fourteen, and wanting to write a blog. I figure I'll promote myself shamelessly, and just write about really good things, and win over thousands of people who want desperately to talk down to me, before realizing that I have a better sense of style than they do.
